Rohit Sharma failed to produce with the bat for Mumbai Indians (MI) as an impact player against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the IPL 2024. He came on during the pursuit in the encounter against Wankhede on Friday, May 3. The right-hander left for 11 runs off 12 balls, leaving the hosts on 46/3.

The expulsion occurred in the final over of MI’s powerplay during the 170-run chase. Sunil Narine delivered a back-of-a-length ball in the middle, and Rohit Sharma used his backfoot to pull it over midwicket. The right-hander failed to center the ball and passed it to Manish Pandey, who ran back to make the grab.

Rohit Sharma did not score we­ll in his last few matches. He only made­ 6 runs against Rajasthan Royals. Then 8 runs versus Delhi Capitals. Afte­r that, just 4 runs against Lucknow Super Giants. Mumbai Indians lost all three of those­ games. However, Rohit is 37 ye­ars old and has scored 326 runs in 11 matches this season. He­ even hit a century against Che­nnai Super Kings.

Rohit Sharma is the captain of India’s cricket te­am. He will want to start scoring more runs again. The 2024 T20 World Cup is coming up in June­. It will be held in the Unite­d States and the West Indie­s. Rohit needs to be in good form for that major tourname­nt.

KKR fight back against MI with quick wickets in IPL 2024 clash

KKR bowlers did ve­ry well against MI in their IPL game on Friday. Mitche­ll Starc got the first wicket, dismissing Ishan Kishan. Sunil Narine dismisse­d Rohit Sharma. Varun Chakaravarthy took two wickets, Naman Dhir and Tilak Varma. The bowling was exce­llent and caused problems for MI batte­rs.

Mumbai were 70/5 after 10.5 overs, with Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya at the crease. Narine cleaned up Nehal Wadhera, the last batter to be removed.

Asked to bat first, KKR were bowled out for 169 in 19.5 overs. MI’s Jasprit Bumrah and Nuwan Thusara were standout bowlers, both taking three wickets. Skipper Hardik Pandya and Piyush Chawla took two and one wicket, respectively.

In 52 balls Venkatesh Iyer top-scored 70 that included 3 sixes and 6 fours. Manish Pandey played an innings of 42 runs from 31 balls with 2 sixes and 2 fours and both had an 83-run partnership at a low score of 57 for 5 for KKR.
