Happy news for Chennai Super Kings supporters as their legendary former captain MS Dhoni has hinted to play in the upcoming IPL 2025.
Dhoni’s participation has been a hot topic on the table since the culmination of the IPL 2024, as the Jharkhand man had an issue with the leg across that season.
As Dhoni found it difficult to even run between the wickets, despite his lustrous knocks in the IPL 2024, it was unsure if the CSK captain would be fit enough to take part in the 2025 edition of the league.
Will MS Dhoni Play in IPL 2025? Revealed
In an event, the 2011 World Cup-winning captain dropped a hint about his participation in the IPL 2025.
“I just want to enjoy whatever last few years of cricket I am able to play,” Dhoni was quoted as saying. “When you play cricket like a professional sport, it becomes difficult to enjoy it just like a game. That’s what I want to do. It’s not easy,” Dhoni said.
“The emotions keep coming, the commitments are there. I want to enjoy the game for the next few years. I have to keep myself fit for nine months, so that I can play two and a half months of IPL. You need to plan it out, but at the same time chill a bit,” he added
After the event, the media asked CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan about the hint MS had dropped, and he replied:
“When he is ready, what else (do) we want. We are happy,” franchise CEO Kasi Viswanathan told Cricbuzz on Saturday.
It’s been reported that CSK skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad will not be the No. 1 retention of Chennai Super Kings. Ruturaj will be the second retention behind Ravindra Jadeja, who recently hung up his international duties. All-rounder Shivam Dube will be another option that the team will consider. As the IPL 2025 retention is about to happen on October 31, fans are waiting for the fate of their favorite players.
