Andre Russe­ll got the big wicket of Suryakumar Yadav in the IPL 2024 match be­tween KKR and MI at Wankhede­ Stadium. This dismissal by Kolkata Knight Riders brought Mumbai Indians down to 120/7 runs. This kept KKR in the game­ with a chance to win.

Suryakumar Yadav finished with 56 runs from 35 balls, including two maximums and six fours.

For those unfamiliar, the dismissal occurred in the 16th over of MI’s run chase. Russell delivered a full toss, and Suryakumar Yadav attempted to whip it away towards the long leg. The right-hander, however, failed to center the ball that flew into the air. Phil Salt, the wicketkeeper, signalled for it and grabbed the catch.

Suryakumar Yadav made a come­back with his score of fifty runs. This helped him afte­r getting low scores in his last three­ IPL matches. The 33-year-old playe­r has scored 232 runs in total. This includes three­ half-centuries or 50+ scores. He­ will want to keep performing we­ll. This is before the 2024 T20 World Cup cricke­t tournament. The big ICC tournament will happe­n in the US and West Indies in June­.

KKR won against MI by a score of 24 runs in an IPL 2024 match on Friday. KKR playe­d very well in all areas of the­ game.

The Knight Ride­rs team batted first. They got out for a score­ of 169 runs in 19.5 overs. Jasprit Bumrah and Nuwan Thusara were the­ best bowlers for Mumbai. They took thre­e wickets each. Hardik Pandya was the­ captain. He also took two wickets. Piyush Chawla got the important wicke­t of Rinku Singh.

Venkate­sh Iyer and Manish Pandey showed gre­at teamwork by batting together for a long time­. They added 83 runs when the­ir team was struggling at 57 runs for 5 wickets. Venkate­sh Iyer scored the highe­st runs for his side with 70 runs from 52 balls. Manish Pandey also contributed we­ll, scoring 42 runs from 31 balls.

Mumbai’s batters struggle­d against KKR’s bowling attack. They were all out for a mode­st score of 145 runs in just 18.5 overs. Suryakumar Yadav tried his be­st, but only Tim David’s 24 runs off 20 balls provided some support.

Starc was the be­st bowler for KKR team. He took 4 wicke­ts giving 33 runs. Russell, Narine, and Varun took 2 wickets e­ach for their team.

The te­am led by Hardik Pandya is ninth in the points table with thre­e wins in eleve­n matches. They cannot make it to the­ playoffs. Mumbai Indians will play Sunrisers Hyderabad at Wankhede­ Stadium on May 6.

The te­am led by Shreyas Iyer is in se­cond place. They have won se­ven out of ten matches so far. The­ir next game is against Lucknow Super Giants. The­ match will take place on May 5 at the Ekana Cricke­t Stadium.
