The captain of the­ Indian cricket team, Rohit Sharma, spoke with humor at the­ press meet. This me­et discussed players picke­d for the 2024 T20 World Cup. The mee­t took place on Thursday, May 2, at the BCCI office. The­ head of the player choosing group, Ajit Agarkar, also came­ to this meet.

A wide range of topics were discussed, including the squad’s overall composition and the presence or absence of specific individuals. One writer noted the absence of an off-spinner, despite Team India’s contentious decision to field four spinners at the cost of other players.

When Rohit Sharma heard the query, he raised his hand to signify that he is the squad’s off-spinner, which amused Ajit Agarkar.

The captain, who was a solid off-spinner in his early career, was forced to curtail his bowling workload owing to a finger injury. He was instrumental with the ball in the Deccan Chargers’ IPL title triumph in 2009, scoring a rare hattrick against his future side, the Mumbai Indians.

He also played for his country, taking a single wicket in nine games, the last of which came in the 2012 T20 World Cup.
