Former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Indian batsman Suresh Raina recently praised his former colleague MS Dhoni. This happened after the latter made an incredible acrobatic catch during the IPL 2024 match against Gujarat Titans (GT) on Tuesday, March 26.
The unique occasion occurred in the eighth over of the second innings of CSK’s sixth IPL 2024 match against GT at Chepauk Stadium. Titans batsman Vijay Shankar received a thick edge when facing Super Kings all-rounder Daryl Mitchell’s third ball in the over.
The ball went to the wicketkeeper’s right. MS Dhoni replied with a quick dive to complete the catch and give his team its third breakthrough. Since then, fans have praised MS Dhoni for his incredible agility on the field, even at the age of 42.
Suresh Raina also praised his former skipper on Instagram, calling him an example to everyone. He posted the following post regarding MS Dhoni with the caption:
“Yeh baat yaad rakhiye sir #tigerabhizindahai @mahi7781 bhai ???? Always going strong & inspiring everyone around????????”
CSK earned a smooth win against GT by a margin of 63 runs. They displayed an excellent team effort. Batting first, they amassed 206/6, a competitive score. Their bowlers followed it up superbly, restricting GT to 143/8 while defending the target. It was a comprehensive performance from CSK.
Ruturaj Gaikwad Reflects on CSK’s Victory over GT in IPL 2024
At the post-match presentation, Chennai Super Kings captain Ruturaj Gaikwad reminisced on the victory, saying:
“It was a near-perfect game for us. A team like Gujarat always challenge you and it was great to come up with a performance like this. In Chennai when you are not sure what the pitch will be, it is important to have wickets in hand. Rachin batted brilliantly in the powerplay and we were ahead in the game.”

“Shivam played brilliantly and not to forget Rizvi. In terms of confidence, Mahi bhai and the management worked with him. He knows what kind of a role he is playing.
