Shivam Mavi, an Indian cricket player, shared that film superstar Shah Rukh Khan called him before his first game with Team India.

Shah Rukh’s team, the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), signed Mavi before the Indian Premier League’s (IPL) 2018 tournament. After five seasons, KKR let him go in 2022.

In his chat with ex-India U-19 mate Manjot Kalra, Mavi spoke about Shah Rukh:

“He (Shah Rukh Khan) is very helpful. He has given me his contact number and said I can contact him anytime. I received a phone call from him ahead of my India debut as well. The franchise is a different thing, but it was a personal conversation. I felt really good after that.”

In January 2023, Shivam Mavi had his first game with Team India during the T20I series. This exciting event happened at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai where they played against Sri Lanka. Mavi did extremely well for his first time. He skillfully bagged four wickets, showing off his amazing abilities with the ball.

Shivam Mavi also discussed how Shah Rukh Khan inspired the KKR players after they lost a match against the Chennai Super Kings. He claimed that Shah Rukh entered the changing room and raised the team’s mood with his comments.

Mavi added:

“He is a legend. KKR had lost a match against CSK. Both Shubman Gill and I were not part of the playing XI for the game. We were sitting in the dressing room. He (Shah Rukh Khan) came into the dressing room and told us to cheer up.

Gujarat Titans (GT) have released Shivam Mavi ahead of the IPL 2024 mini-acution. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) paid ₹6.40 crore for his services at the tournament.
