Rohit Sharma T20I Retirement Is Irreversible, Says the Player

Rohit said that his retirement from the shortest format of the game is final and he will not come back. He also took a dig at the players who actually return from the retirement saying that ‘Retirement has become a joke these days’.

“Retirement has become a joke these days in world cricket, people announce retirement but then return to play, it hasn’t happened in India – however I have been observing players from other countries, they announce retirement but then make a U-turn so you never really know whether someone has actually retired – my decision is final & I am very clear – it was a perfect time to say goodbye from T20I.”

Rohit will lead India in the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh. The first one of the two-match series will commence on September 18 at the MA Chidambaram stadium, Chennai.

Along with Rohit Sharma, star batter Virat Kohli and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja had hung up their pads from the shortest format right after the T20 World Cup.
