The importance of all-rounders in T20 cricket cannot be denied. All-rounders balance playing XIs by stepping in to complete bowling quotas or contribute to batting if specialist batters have a difficult day. In IPL 2023, here’s a look at the best all-rounder from each team.

#1 Hardik Pandya – Gujarat Titans

Last year, Gujarat Titans could attribute much of their success to Captain Hardik Pandya. In the IPL 2022 season, he was their leading run-scorer with 487 runs in 15 matches, averaging an impressive 131.26 strike rate. Additionally, he picked up eight wickets over the ten innings he bowled. With his all-round performances, Pandya ultimately sealed GT’s victory as Champions against Rajasthan Royals.

#2 Ravindra Jadeja – Chennai Super Kings

Ravindra Jadeja, the all-rounder, is the backbone of the Chennai Super Kings and has been for many IPL seasons. The franchise’s faith in him again manifested ahead of the IPL 2022 Mega Auction when they exercised the option to retain him as their top player. Despite failing to live up to his huge price tag of ₹16 crores last year, he will be determined to prove his worth this time.

#3 Sam Curran – Punjab Kings

The Punjab Kings made an enormous investment, shelling out a whopping ₹18.5 crore to secure the all-rounder Sam Curran’s services at the IPL 2023 Auction. Curran has already played 32 matches in the IPL before this, where he has scored 337 runs and taken 32 wickets. Seeing how he performs in his second tenure with the Punjab Kings will be exciting.

#4 Andre Russell – Kolkata Knight Riders

Russell is the most formidable force in KKR’s arsenal, and with Shreyas Iyer out of the picture for the initial stages of IPL 2023, he may be given the reins of the team’s leadership.

LSG has kept many all-rounders for the 2023 IPL season, including the talented Deepak Hooda. Hooda has been a great asset to India’s national cricket team in the shorter format of the game. The player had 15 matches in the 2022 IPL, scoring 451 runs and taking one wicket.

#6 Axar Patel – Delhi Capitals

The Delhi Capitals showed their faith in all-rounder Axar Patel by retaining him ahead of the IPL 2022 Mega Auction, a decision which was well rewarded as he provided 182 runs over 10 innings at a remarkable strike rate of 151.66. His cameos continuously proved crucial for the team. With the ball, he took 6 wickets at an efficient economy rate of 7.43.

#7 Washington Sundar – Sunrisers Hyderabad

Washington Sundar can potentially be one of the top performers of IPL 2023, with SRH counting on him heavily. If he can stay in peak condition, he could emerge as a key contributor to the team’s success.

The team at RR decided to bring on Holder at the auction with the idea of having a well-rounded squad for the upcoming season. Holder is no stranger to the IPL, having featured in 38 matches and accumulating 247 runs and 39 wickets.

Green is a fresh face in the IPL but has already made a strong impression with his diverse skills. He is one of the few players in the world who can hit big hits and deliver quality pace bowling for four overs. With Kieron Pollard now retired, all attention will be on Green.
