During the first test match between India and Australia in Nagpur, the star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was penalized a quarter of his match money because he committed a Level 1 Code of Conduct offence. The match was played between India and Australia.
Because of his behavior during the game, the International Cricket Council (ICC) ruled that Ravindra Jadeja had violated Article 2.20 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel. This section of the code addresses behaviors that, when it comes to how the game should be played, are incompatible with its smooth functioning.
As a direct result of the gravity of this particular rule-breaking, Jadeja’s total disciplinary score has been docked one point as a measure of the appropriate response. This is the first time in the preceding year and a half that he has broken the law owing to acts he has taken on his initiative.
On Thursday, February 9, during the 46th over of Australia’s first innings, Jadeja was seen applying a soothing balm on his index finger. The game was being played in Australia. In the video, the left-arm spinner is seen rubbing something off Mohammed Siraj’s palm onto his left index finger.
The management of the India team claims that the finger spinner applied lotion to the index finger of his bowling hand to reduce the swelling on that finger. Before this was carried out, the on-field umpires were not asked for their permission or advised about it in any way.
