Punjab Kings’ player Shashank Singh hit many big shots. He scored sixty-one runs in twenty-nine balls. His team needed to get two hundred runs to win. They were playing against Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad. Shashank’s excellent batting helped his team win. He smashed six fours and four huge sixes. His strike rate was very high at two hundred and ten point three four. For his brilliant batting, he was named the best player of the match.

Shashank Singh came out to bat after Sam Curran was dismissed, with the score at 70-4 in the ninth over of the run chase. GT dominated the proceedings, but the right-handed batter’s spectacular start, which included a 17-run against Umesh Yadav, breathed new life into the game.

He was helped by cameos from Jitesh Sharma and impact sub Ashutosh Sharma, and he stayed till the end to help PBKS cross the finish line with one ball to spare.

Shashank Singh made waves during the 2024 IPL mini-auction when PBKS appeared to want to buy his namesake at the event. Despite the franchise’s assertion that the 32-year-old was always on their radar, the claims persisted.

However, after this knock, such arguments are no longer valid, as fans hailed the performance in unanimity on social media. Here are some reactions on Twitter:

“When I bat, I feel I am the best in the world” – Shashank Singh

Shashank Singh has been a problem for GT team. He hit many big shots in a short time when he played for SRH team last year. His small but powerful innings caused trouble for GT.

In this match, Singh attacked GT bowlers Mohit Sharma and Rashid Khan. His brave hitting helped PBKS win the game. PBKS avoided their third loss in a row by beating GT.

Shashank Singh started the 2024 season with a golden duck against the Delhi Capitals (DC). He backed it up with a strong eight-ball cameo against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), scoring 21 runs.

“It is still sinking in, you visualise things before and it feels unreal. I play cricketing shots and the coach told me to react to the ball and play accordingly. The wicket was really good, it was a mixed soil wicket and both teams scoring 200 shows the character of the game. (On facing Rashid and co.) They are legends of the game but when I bat, I feel I am the best in the world. I react to the ball and not to the bowlers. The coaches and the management backed me. I played at SRH a couple of years ago and it was a pretty good experience as well.”
