After a long wait, wicketkeeper Jitesh Sharma will play his maiden international game for India outside of the Asian Games on Friday, December 1 in Raipur in the fourth T20I against Australia.

Jitesh lit the IPL stage ablaze in 2022 after consistently doing well for Vidarbha. He followed it up with a strong campaign early this year. His efforts were appreciated as he made his Asian Games debut for India in the men’s cricket event.

India has made four changes to its lineup, with Jitesh replacing Ishan Kishan as wicketkeeper. Shreyas Iyer, vice-captain, joins the team in place of Tilak Varma.

Prasidh Krishna had a dismal performance in the previous T20I and has been removed from the lineup. Deepak Chahar replaces him, thus this is an excellent opportunity for the pacer to demonstrate his abilities with both bat and ball. Arshdeep Singh has been replaced by Mukesh Kumar, who missed the last game.

It’s a big game for players like Jitesh Sharma and Shreyas Iyer, who aren’t necessarily part of India’s T20I plans and will need to establish their worth.
