Kasi Viswanathan the CEO of Che­nnai Super Kings (CSK) maintains hope that the iconic wicke­tkeeperbatte­r MS Dhoni will make a comeback for the IPL 2025 se­ason. Aged 42 Dhoni featured in the­ IPL 2024 season under Ruturaj Gaikwads guidance le­aving many to speculate that his match against Royal Challenge­rs Bengaluru (RCB) marked his final appearance­ on the field.

However, MS Dhoni is yet to formally declare his retirement. Viswanathan is also patient with the decision since he believes Dhoni would take his time and notify CSK about his future when it is appropriate.

In a video shared on social media by CSK, Kasi Viswanathan said the following about MS Dhoni:

“It’s a question which only MS can answer. See, the question for us is, we’ve always respected the decisions taken by MS. We have left it to him. And as all of you know, he has always taken his decisions and announced them at the appropriate time. We are very, very hopeful that he will be available for CSK next year. That is the view and the expectations of fans and me. That’s the case.”

Dhoni excelled as a finisher for CSK, hitting 161 runs in 14 matches at a strike rate of 220.55.

MS Dhoni’s former CSK colleague Robin Uthappa feels the famous wicketkeeper would return for IPL 2025, especially after they were eliminated from IPL 2024 by the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Here is what he told Jio Cinema.

“I don’t think we have seen the last of MS. He is not someone who takes these things lightly. He will come back roaring for sure.”
