T20 cricket has revolutionized the sport by providing players with new skills. Although some purists of Test cricket have argued it has damaged the legacy of the game, T20 leagues around the world have enabled players to develop a broad range of abilities instead of simply focusing on their nation’s requirements. We have recently seen teams flourish thanks to some incredible trios working harmoniously. Here, we tribute three of the most prominent trios throughout franchise cricket’s history.

1. Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, and Chris Gayle – RCB

AB de Villiers, Virat Kohli, and Chris Gayle are the most iconic trio to have played for RCB. Fans have become accustomed to seeing Gayle open the innings and smash the bowlers to all parts of the ground, Kohli plays perfect innings, and ABD performs as he does best. While Gayle and de Villiers have retired from the IPL, Kohli is still part of the franchise and was the captain until Faf du Plessis took over in 2022.

2. Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Rashid Khan – Lahore Qalandars

An unplayable mystery spinner who can smack the ball, a proper quick bowler, and another pacer who can swing the ball and hit a few sixes is a combination that every team would want. Rashid Khan, Haris Rauf, and Shaheen Shah Afridi are part of the Pakistan Super League team Lahore Qalandars. Twelve overs of the 20 overs will be bowled by the trio, which is a huge mental barrier. The Qalandars have won two out of three games this season. They helped their franchise win the PSL in 2022.

3. MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, and Ravindra Jadeja

Chennai Super Kings had at one time the invaluable advantage of a formidable triumvirate; MS Dhoni, whose brilliance as a leader and finisher needs no introduction; Suresh Raina, a dependable batting star who was the league’s top run-scorer for some time; and Ravindra Jadeja, an enthralling all-rounder. This trio achieved remarkable successes together, thrilling their fervent fans with camaraderie. While Raina has hung up his bat in the IPL, both Jadeja and Dhoni are still donning the yellow jersey and will return soon.
