Sandeep Sharma grabbed Travis Head’s prized wicket in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 Qualifier 2 match between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Friday at Chepauk. The medium pacer delivered a slower bouncer, tricking Head into firing a huge shot over third man with no control. Head exited for 34 runs off 28 balls in an innings that included one six and three boundaries.
The dismissal occurred with the last ball of SRH’s tenth over. Sandeep Sharma produced a slower ball at a decent height, and Head attempted to find room to go over the short third man. Head’s lack of speed caught up with him, as he miscued to Ravichandran Ashwin, who made a fine catch.
Following the expulsion, the Royals reduced the Sunrisers to 99/4 after ten overs.

RR dominate SRH in IPL 2024 Qualifier 2
A stellar bowling exhibition by Trent Boult and Sandeep Sharma led RRs dominance over SRH in IPL 2024 Qualifier 2. Boults early dismissal of Abhishek Sharma set the tone followed by impactful dismissals of Rahul Tripathi and Aiden Markram sealing their fate.
The Sunrisers were 120/6 after 14 overs, with Heinrich Klaasen at the crease. Avesh Khan dismissed Nitish Reddy and Abdul Samad with the last two balls.
Pat Cummins and Co. defeated Sanju Samson’s side by one run in a last-over thriller earlier this season.
The Sunrisers brace themselves for the next battle after a disappointing eightwicket loss to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in IPL 2024 Qualifier 1. In a contrast of fate the Royals savored victory over Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) by four wickets clinching their spot in Qualifier 2. Each team holds a coveted IPL title Rajasthan Royals in 2008 and Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2016.
