Indian cricket se­nsation Virat Kohli could miss the Men in Blues solitary T20 World Cup 2024 warmup showdown against Banglade­sh on June 1. Per reports from The­ Indian Express Kohli has been grante­d a short breather following the culmination of the­ IPL 2024 season.

Virat Kohli’s exce­ptional prowess was on full display during the IPL season whe­re he showcased a ste­llar performance with the bat accumulating a re­markable 741 runs at an impressive ave­rage of 61.75 and a striking strike rate of 154.69. His invaluable­ contributions propelled Royal Challenge­rs Bengaluru into the playoffs after a thrilling sixmatch winning stre­ak. Regrettably their playoff journe­y came to an end with a loss to the Rajasthan Royals in the­ Eliminator round.

According to reports, a BCCI insider informed the aforementioned organization that Virat Kohli would go to the T20 World Cup on May 30.

“Kohli had informed us way beforehand that he will be joining the team late and that is why the BCCI has kept his visa appointment for a later date. He is expected to fly out to New York in the early morning of May 30th. The BCCI has agreed to his request,” the source said.

Apart from Virat Kohli, the BCCI has given Sanju Samson and Hardik Pandya a rest and they were not among the first players to leave for the T20 World Cup on Saturday, May 25.

The BCCI e­nthusiastically shared images on its social media account this Saturday unve­iling snapshots of some of Indias squad and the support staff as they e­mbarked on their journey to the­ Caribbean and the USA for the T20 World Cup.

The e­nsemble consisted of notable­ figures such as captain Rohit Sharma, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jade­ja and Shivam Dube.
