Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) put up 167 runs for the­ loss of 7 wickets in the first innings. This was in Match 26 of IPL 2024 on Friday (12th April) hosted at Ekana Stadium, Lucknow.

KL Rahul was the captain of the­ LSG team. He won the toss and de­cided that his team would bat first in this match. Quinton de Kock ope­ned the batting for Lucknow Super Giants He score­d 19 runs quickly. De Kock hit a few boundaries. But he­ got out in the 3rd over of the innings.

Kuldeep Yadav weaved a web around the Lucknow batters, causing a collapse with early wickets to put DC ahead. KL Rahul (39) looked in excellent form despite the mayhem for Lucknow Super Giants, smashing the bowlers all over the park on his way to 39 (22). However, he failed to convert it into a huge one and left in the tenth over.

The Super Giants found themselves at 94/7 after 13 overs. Ayush Badoni (55) saved them with a scorching half-century. In the companionship of Arshad Khan (20), he helped the home team score a decent 167.

“I enjoyed really well, from last three innings, I couldn’t really contribute much. I was batting well in the nets but it came out well this game, thanks to franchise for backing me.”

“For this innings, I wanted to take it deep, earlier I was striking from ball one but the plan was to build partnerships, also put the bad ball away. Arshad played a crucial role, he was there till the last and helped us post a competitive total. Hopefully, we will defend this time as well.”
