On March 11th, in the fourth IND vs AUS test, Team India made a remarkable comeback. Despite Australia scoring 480 runs in their first innings, India batted for the entire day and put up a solid performance. Shubman Gill stood out with his exceptional batting skills, scoring his second Test century and leading India’s charge in Ahmedabad.

Starting the day with an overnight score of 36/0, India had a decent start. Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill played aggressively against Mitchell Starc, who initially resorted to short-pitched bowling. The duo scored quick runs and forced Australian captain Steve Smith to replace Starc with another bowler.

An unexpected delivery by Matthew Kuhnemann dismissed Rohit Sharma. However, Shubman Gill and Cheteshwar Pujara formed a solid 113-run partnership for the second wicket to stabilize India’s innings. Despite facing 121 balls, Pujara could only manage 42 runs. After 42 overs, Australia finally got a breakthrough as Todd Murphy dismissed Pujara in front of the stumps.

Shubman Gill continued to score fluently while batting alongside Virat Kohli. After initially struggling, Gill reached his second Test century while Kohli regained his form and scored his first half-century in 16 Test innings. After the end of Day 3, where Team India reached 289/3 with Ravindra Jadeja (16*) and Virat Kohli (59*) still at the crease, Shubman Gill expressed his thoughts on his impressive innings and said:

“It feels great to score a hundred here, my IPL home ground. It is glad to get some runs here. The pitch was good to bat on. Anything happening off the pitch was of the rough area. I was looking to pick singles whenever possible and trying to be positive.

“They weren’t attacking that much today. We are now three down and almost scored 300, so we would look to get a big score on Day 4. Who knows the wicket might help our bowlers on Day 5.”

Following India’s impressive display on Day 3 of the fourth IND vs AUS test, fans took to social media to share their reactions. Many shared memes on Instagram and Twitter to express their views on the exciting match.
