During the Mumbai Indians’ (MI) captaincy change, batter Suryakumar Yadav’s wife Devisha Shetty published a strange remark on her Instagram story, only to remove it later.

Mumbai Indians named all-rounde­r Hardik Pandya as captain on Friday, December 15th. He­ will lead the franchise in the­ upcoming Indian Premier League­ (IPL) season, replacing Rohit Sharma’s 10-year te­nure. Pandya was traded from Gujarat Titans (GT) earlie­r.

Several Rohit and Mumbai Indians supporters are alleged to be dissatisfied with the MI franchise’s new administration. Suryakumar Yadav’s wife Devisha is believed to have posted a mysterious message on Instagram during the commotion:

“The way you treat people will always be remembered.”

The post was later removed. Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav tweeted a sad heart symbol on Instagram on Saturday, fueling further conjecture about the recent changes in the Mumbai Indians camp.

Suryakumar Yadav was one of the candidates to succeed Rohit Sharma as Mumbai Indians captain in the near future until Pandya entered the scene. However, in an unexpected twist, Pandya was initially traded in from GT, and speculations of his being the future captain immediately circulated.

The Mumbai Indians team announced the news on their website on Friday, citing an official statement that stated:

“Renowned all-rounder Hardik Pandya is set to take the helm as the captain of the Mumbai Indians, succeeding its longest-serving, one of the most successful and loved captains the illustrious Rohit Sharma.”

“Mumbai Indians have always been blessed with exceptional leadership right from Sachin to Harbhajan and Ricky to Rohit, who while contributing to the immediate success have always had an eye on strengthening the team for the future. It is in keeping with this philosophy that Hardik Pandya will assume captaincy of Mumbai Indians for the IPL 2024 season.”
