In the IPL 2023 match between the Chennai Super Kings and the Kolkata Knight Riders, Sunil Narine eliminated Moeen Ali with a superb delivery. Ali was puzzled by KKR’s mystery spinner and had no answer to Narine’s drifting delivery.
Moeen Ali’s IPL 2023 season has not been his greatest, particularly in the batting category. For the Chennai Super Kings, the England all-rounder has failed to score big. He had an opportunity to play a significant innings for CSK against the Kolkata Knight Riders earlier tonight at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
Ali was sent out by Sunil Narine after only one run. After Narine removed Ambati Rayudu on the first ball of the 11th over, Moeen Ali arrived. Ali singled on the first delivery he saw and struck out on the last delivery of the same over.
Narine delivered a back of the length ball that drifted in from outside off stump. Ali did not utilise his feet and instead used a defensive stroke to keep the ball down. The ball sliced back in, went past the inside edge of the bat and shook the stumps. The video can be viewed here:

If Chennai Super Kings defeat Kolkata Knight Riders tonight at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, they will officially qualify for the IPL 2023 playoffs. In 20 overs, CSK scored 144/6. The home team’s leading scorer was Shivam Dube, who hit an undefeated 34-ball 48.
It would be intriguing to see if Ali and the rest of the CSK bowlers can keep KKR under 145.
