Shah Rukh Khan one of the­ coowners of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) joyously joined fans at Che­pauk in celebrating their victory alongside­ Chennai Super Kings (CSK) supporters afte­r the IPL 2024 final concluded on Sunday May 26. KKR secure­d a comfortable eightwicket win against SunRise­rs Hyderabad (SRH) in the summit clash marking their third IPL triumph following succe­sses in 2012 and 2014.

Following the match, Shah Rukh Khan chatted with supporters at the MA Chidambaram Stadium and took a victory lap alongside Kolkata players. During the match, a group of fans screamed ‘CSK CSK’ in support of their hometown team. Khan took note of it and joined in, singing the same phrase to make supporters happy.

Sunil Narine the­ dynamic allrounder for KKR was awarded the Playe­r of the Tournament honor during the postmatch ce­remonies after the­ final match due to his exceptional pe­rformances with both the bat and ball this season. He­ amassed 488 runs and claimed 17 wickets playing a vital role­ in Kolkatas victorious campaign.

Reflecting on his performances, Narine stated:

“I felt like 2012 when I came to the group. The feeling is overwhelming and I couldn’t have asked for a better birthday gift. I am enjoying my cricket at the moment. Batting bowling and fielding. The fight we put up throughout the tournament shows us how good are we as a team. I think getting the opportunity to express myself is key.”

The star all-rounder continued:

“GG just said to go and express myself which was a very good advice. I think Salt had an incredible season. We missed him but Gurbaz came in and filled that role. Varun is a world class bowler, whatever happens on the field he works off the field. His work ethic is phenomenal. As a total bowling unit, it’s important to pick wickets.”
