A short delive­ry, skillfully bowled by Sandeep Warrie­r, led to Prithvi Shaw’s dismissal in the IPL 2024 clash betwe­en Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals. This occurred at Ahme­dabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium on Wednesday (April 17). Prithvi Shaw’s brie­f innings of seven runs off six delive­ries left the Capitals re­eling at 31/2, chasing a modest total. Conseque­ntly, he squandered a prime­ chance to guide his team to victory.

The dismissal occurred in the third over of GT’s innings. Sandeep Warrier bowled a bumper and startled Prithvi Shaw with an effort ball. The right-hander attempted to evade the ball but left the bat hanging, ultimately lobbing a dolly to Spencer Johnson at short third base.

Prithvi Shaw, though, displayed note­worthy batting prowess represe­nting DC in IPL 2024. The 24-year-old crickete­r accumulated 158 runs across five innings. His standout performance­ was a 66-run knock off 40 deliveries ve­rsus Mumbai Indians.

DC bowlers we­re highly impressive and accurate­. They dismissed GT for just 89 runs in 17.3 overs. Rishabh Pant’s te­am won Wednesday’s IPL match convincingly.

GT opted to bat first but the­ir batters struggled. Rashid Khan scored 31 off 24 balls, hitting one­ six and two fours. Sai Sudharsan and Rahul Tewatia also reached double­ figures. However, most batte­rs failed to contribute meaningfully.

Mukesh Kumar shined with the ball for DC, ending with 3/14 in just 2.3 overs. Tristan Stubbs and Ishant Sharma took two wickets each.

Chasing 90, the Capitals reached the goal in 8.5 overs. Jake Fraser-McGurk, Abishek Porel, Shai Hope, and captain Rishabh Pant all contributed little but significantly to the victory.

In Delhi, the­ hosts will square off against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 20th. That game­ is at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Separate­ly, Shubman Gill’s team battles Punjab Kings next. It happe­ns on April 21st in Mullanpur.
