They convincingly outplayed Ireland by securing an eightwicket victory before edging out archrivals Pakistan by a slender six runs in a thrilling encounter in New York. The bowlers exhibited exceptional skill in defending 119 runs led by Jasprit Bumrah’s impressive figures of 3/14.
A day after the game, Indian players were spotted enjoying a break from their hectic commitments. Skipper Rohit Sharma had a great day with his wife and daughter in a natural park. He uploaded a couple images from the excursion to his Instagram account, captioned:

Rohit Sharma has established himself as a cornerstone of Indias roster in the ongoing World Cup. Post a rather lackluster IPL 2024 stint with the Mumbai Indians (MI) he initiated his T20 World Cup voyage with a stellar unbeaten halfcentury.
Chasing a modest score of 97 against the Irish, the Men in Blue were knocked out early after losing Virat Kohli cheaply. However, Rohit steadied the ship with a vital performance of 52 runs off 37 balls before retiring injured. The right-handed hitter hit four boundaries and three sixes over his innings.
However, Rohit failed to make an impact against Pakistan, being bowled for 13 runs off 12 deliveries. He attempted to clear the midwicket fielder but holed out to Haris Rauf off Shaheen Shah Afridi’s delivery. The 37-year-old batsman was unable to make the needed connection and clear the large ground.
Rohit Sharma will seek to resume his run-scoring binge when India faces the USA in New York on Wednesday, June 12.
