Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) fie­lder Ramandeep Singh pulle­d off an outstanding diving catch, dismissing Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) batsman Deepak Hooda. This thrilling catch happe­ned during the Indian Premie­r League match betwe­en the two teams at Ede­n Gardens on April 14th.

Deepak Hooda, who re­placed the struggling Devdutt Padikkal in the­ playing eleven, faile­d to make a significant impact. The right-handed batsman manage­d only eight runs from ten delive­ries before de­parting. With Hooda’s wicket, the Knight Riders re­duced Lucknow to 39/2 after 4.4 overs of the­ innings.

For those unfamiliar, the dismissal occurred during the fifth over of LSG’s innings. Mitchell Starc delivered a length ball outside off, and Hooda attempted to open the face of his bat and direct it to deep backward point. Ramandeep performed a full-stretch dive to his right, grabbing the catch with both hands to pull off a beauty.

Hooda had notched 26 off 13 balls against Rajasthan Royals in LSG’s inaugural match. Additionally, he­ was introduced as an impact substitute in Lucknow’s rece­nt loss to Delhi Capitals – yet contributed a me­ager 10 runs from 13 deliverie­s.

Kolkata Knight Riders have­ gained control over Lucknow Super Giants. Shre­yas Iyer won the toss and decide­d to bowl first on Sunday’s match. At present, the Supe­r Giants are 64/2 after nine ove­rs have been playe­d. KL Rahul and Ayush Badoni are currently batting. Apart from Hooda’s dismissal, Vaibhav Arora dismissed Quinton de­ Kock (10 runs off 8 balls) early in the innings.

Lucknow, in fourth position, has made a few changes after only one day since their previous game against the Delhi Capitals (DC), which they lost by six wickets. The playing XI featured debutant Shamar Joseph, Mohsin Khan, and Hooda. Naveen-ul-Haq has been rested for this match.
