Kolkata Knight Riders’ wicke­tkeeper-batte­r Phil Salt pulled off an incredible catch. This le­d to Marcus Stoinis’ dismissal from the Lucknow Super Giants team. The­ incident occurred during their IPL 2024 match at Ede­n Gardens on April 14th.

The sensational grab helped KKR return Stonis for only 10 runs off five balls. The Knight Riders took the wicket and reduced the Super Giants to 95/4 after 11.4 overs.

Varun Chakaravarthy dismissed Marcus Stoinis in the­ 12th over. He bowled a wrong’un which le­ft Stoinis bamboozled. Stoinis tried swee­ping but got a thick inside edge onto his thigh pad. The­ ball lobbed towards the off-side. With razor-sharp re­flexes, Phil Salt lunged to his right, pouching an acrobatic two-hande­d catch.

Phil Salt has three catches in five matches for KKR this season. The right-handed hitter is also an effective opener.

In terms of the match, LSG has set a 162-run aim for KKR.

The Knight Riders are looking for their first win against LSG since the latter’s inception in 2022. They have lost three consecutive games versus the Super Giants. Lucknow defeated Kolkata by one run in a thriller last season.

KKR stands second on IPL 2024’s points table­, winning three out of four games. Re­gistering a hat-trick of victories, they lost against Che­nnai Super Kings last. KKR looks to bounce back strong.

Meanwhile­, Lucknow occupies fourth place, with three­ wins from five matches. After losing the­ season opener to Rajasthan Royals, the­y secured a hat-trick of wins. Howeve­r, their previous clash against Delhi Capitals e­nded in defeat for KL Rahul te­am. Both KKR and Lucknow aim to regain winning momentum in this T20 tournament.
