On Sunday, May 7, Phil Salt shared the humorous details of his furious clash with Mohammed Siraj during the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) versus Delhi Capitals (DC) match in IPL 2023. Salt stated that he and Siraj had a discussion about where they should go for supper.

Salt hit two sixes and a boundary off Mohammed Siraj’s first three deliveries in the fifth over of DC’s innings. The RCB pacer then struck the DC batter with a bouncer. It was ruled wide by the umpire. Siraj got into a furious argument with Salt after the ball went past him.

Both players had to be separated by on-field umpires and non-striker David Warner.

Phil Salt explained the details of the interaction with Rilee Rossouw in an interview with IPLT20.com after the match.

“Were you and Siraj just organizing tomorrow night’s dinner?” Rossouw asked.

“That’s exactly what he said. He said, ‘Where do you want go’ and I said, ‘Maybe Teppanyaki.’ And then he fired up because he did not want to go Teppanyaki, he wanted to go to Bukhara. And I was like, ‘easy, big fella,” Salt hilariously replied.

Last night, the Delhi Capitals hosted the Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. While it was DC’s home ground, RCB enjoyed a lot of crowd support due to the presence of local man Virat Kohli.

Phil Salt and Rilee Rossouw discussed it in their post-match chat:

“I know it’s a home game for us, but there were a few RCB fans,” Salt said.

“For a second I thought we were in Bengaluru,” Rossouw added.

With a win over the Royal Challengers Bangalore, the Delhi Capitals went up to ninth place in the IPL 2023 points table. On May 10, they will take against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
