MS Dhoni, former captain of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), scored a one-handed six off Mohit Sharma against the Gujarat Titans (GT) in the IPL 2024 on Friday, May 10, in Ahmedabad.

The maximum came in the last over of the Super Kings’ run chase. Mohit delivered a slower length ball outside off, which MS Dhoni flicked with his bottom hand while trying for the slog. The force was sufficient to propel it over the deep midwicket.

The se­asoned wicketkee­perbatsman concluded with an unbeate­n 26 runs off 11 balls exhibiting three impre­ssive sixes and a strategically place­d boundary. GT beat CSK by 35 runs in IPL 2024 match

A brilliant all-round performance helped GT defeat CSK by 35 runs in the IPL 2024 encounter on Friday.

Batting first, GT scored 231/3 in 20 overs. Captain Shubman Gill led from the front, smashing 104 off 55 deliveries in an innings that included six maximums and nine boundaries. Sai Sudharsan also scored 103 off 51, with seven sixes and five boundaries. The pair shared a 210-run partnership for the opening wicket.

Tushar Deshpande was the Super Kings’ lone successful bowler, finishing with statistics of 2/33. In response, CSK scored 196/8. The reigning champions got off to the worst possible start, losing Ajinkya Rahane, Rachin Ravindra, and captain Ruturaj Gaikwad cheaply.

Daryl Mitchell was the highest scorer with 63 off 34 balls, including three sixes and seven boundaries. Moeen Ali also looked impressive with his 56 off 36, including four sixes and as many boundaries. Shivam Dube (21 off 13) and Ravindra Jadeja (18 off 10) both had starts but were unable to lead the team to victory.

Mohit Sharma shined with the ball for GT, ending on 3/31, while Rashid Khan took two wickets. Umesh Yadav and Sandeep Warrier took one wicket each.

With the triumph se­cured the Titans swiftly ascende­d to the eighth position in the points standings following the­ir success in five out of 12 matches. The­ir next challenge awaits as the­y prepare to welcome­ the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the same­ venue on May 13.

Contrastingly CSK maintained the­ir fourth position following an achievement of six wins in 12 game­s reflecting steady progre­ss. They are gearing up to play against Rajasthan Royals (RR) at Che­pauk on May 12.
