Afghanistan star Rashid Khan provided the Gujarat Titans (GT) with the crucial breakthrough of Delhi Capitals (DC) batter Shai Hope with a magnificent effort of deep fielding during the IPL 2024 game between the two teams in Delhi on Wednesday, April 24.
Hope attempted to hit GT pacer Sandeep Warrier for a monster six over mid-wicket, but the ball swung away just enough to grab a top edge and fly to the point zone. Rashid was quick to move towards it and made a fantastic diving catch to return the right-hander.

Notably, the Titans have placed the Delhi Capitals on the back foot by taking three wickets in the powerplay and playing faultless defence.
DC need their big guns to form a partnership against GT
Sandeep Warrier has been bowling exceptionally for GT. He dismissed the first three DC batters. Prithvi Shaw and Jake Fraser-McGurk were caught out by Noor Ahmad. Shai Hope fell victim to Rashid Khan’s brilliance.
Axar Patel was promoted to bat at number four. He was soon joined by captain Rishabh Pant. The two left-handers have steadied DC’s innings. They have handled the bowling of Afghan spinners Rashid and Noor competently.
The hosts have scored 80 runs at the halfway mark, a significant improvement from 44/3 at one point. However, DC will need the two senior left-handers to maintain their combination for at least five more overs, allowing players like Tristan Stubbs to shine.
