Indian cricket superstar MS Dhoni, who is renowned for his sharp wit, was up to his humoristic antics once again during a recent event. He dished out some humorous yet sage advice to all the bachelors out there about dealing with girlfriends. Dhoni cautioned them against believing that their partner is leaps and bounds different from all others.

Dhoni hung up his boots from international cricket in 2020, but he didn’t totally disappear from the cricket scene. He is still at the helm of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Even though his appearances are now limited only to the IPL games, his fan base is as vast and passionate as ever.

At a recent event, he was asked for relationship advice and responded in his trademark style.

“If you find someone that you are really happy with, please do get married. To all the bachelors present over here, those who have a girlfriend, I would like to clear this misconception for you by ending this answer – yeh mat sochna meri waali alag hai (don’t think that your partner is different from others).”

It was no surprise that Dhoni’s response had the audience in stitches, with the man himself smiling cheekily.

With an ailing knee, the 42-year-old keeper batter led CSK to a record-tying sixth IPL victory earlier this year. He got knee surgery in Mumbai immediately following the event.

When asked about his recuperation situation, Dhoni stated:

“Knee has survived the operation, going through the rehab phase. The doctor told me you would feel much better by November. But no problem in day-to-day routine.”

Speaking after CSK’s victory over Gujarat Titans (GT) in the IPL 2023 final in Ahmedabad earlier this year, Dhoni suggested that he would return to thank supporters one more time.

“Circumstantially, it’s the best time to announce retirement. The easy thing for me is to say thank you and retire. But the amount of love I have received from CSK fans, it would be a gift for them to (see me) play one more season.”
