Harshal Patel talked about getting MS Dhoni out for zero runs. Dhoni is a very famous cricketer. Patel pitched the ball to Dhoni during the IPL 2024 match. It was between Punjab Kings and Chennai Super Kings in Dharamsala. Dhoni got out on the first ball. Patel became the first bowler to dismiss Dhoni in the current IPL season.

MS Dhoni came to bat very late in the match. People watching the match expected that Dhoni would once again play a quick cameo innings like he did in earlier matches. However, the bowler outsmarted Dhoni with a clever slower ball. This ball got through Dhoni’s defense and hit the stumps, dismissing him.

Harshal Patel took Shardul Thakur’s wicket with a similar ball before. This brought MS Dhoni to bat at number nine for the first time. It was also the third time Harshal Patel got Dhoni out.

The right-arm bowler admitted to misreading the wicket and not celebrating after dismissing Dhoni for a golden duck.

“Definitely bit on the drier side, we felt that and even when we hit on the hard length, it wasn’t going as fast as we were bowling, it’s not stopping but definitely a slower one.”

“I have too much respect for him to celebrate when I get him out. One of the advantages of day game is, the square is quite rough, when I came into bowl the first, the ball started reversing and it drifted away a bit and it made things harder for the batter. I was not really confident with those, initially I haven’t been bowling for over a year but I’ve been working on it, there’s no technique to it but when it comes out, it’s good as the batters mostly don’t pick it.”
