Harbhajan Singh, a former Indian off-spinner, bestowed appreciation on Jos Buttler for his stellar performance in this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL). Harbhajan thinks the English wicketkeeper-batsman is the best player ever because he can handle any bowling attack.
Jos Buttler, the white-ball captain for England, scored 863 runs in IPL 2022 to earn the Orange Cap. The key player for the Rajasthan Royals (RR) has also been in excellent form so far this season, with three scores of 50 or more in 4 games.
The Royals defeated the Super Kings by scoring 175 runs, with 52 runs coming from Jos Buttler on the challenging Chepauk pitch on April 12.
Harbhajan praised Buttler on his YouTube channel for becoming the third-fastest batsman in IPL history to achieve 3000 runs. He said
“The words just wouldn’t come out to applaud Jos Buttler. He is an outstanding batsman. He has great footwork when facing pace and spin, excellent technique, and a mastery of the crease. He’s the best batsman in cricket right now on the international level.”
The Royals managed to hold off the Super Kings and won by three wickets after setting a target of 176 runs.
CSK’s captain MS Dhoni smashed two sixes in the final over as Sandeep Sharma’s intended yorkers ended up full tosses. The match ended when the right-arm fast bowler chose to bowl around the wicket and gave up no more boundaries.
Jos Buttler: ‘Ravindra Jadeja was practically unplayable’
Buttler mentioned in an interview in the middle of the match between CSK and RR that CSK’s spinner Ravindra Jadeja was practically unplayable because the pitch slowed down after a good start. He told:
“Started like a perfect wicket, slowed down, and Jadeja bowled well. You are always looking for a way to take advantage of the powerplay. We started with a couple of early wickets lost, forcing me to bat for longer. Intended to stay for the finish, but I got out early.”
‘Jadeja bowls fast and makes it spin. Once the ball starts to turn, you have difficulty beating him. Ashwin, Chahal, and Zampa are the best spin bowlers in the RR camp. We have experienced excellent results with our spinners, and spin bowling has always been effective in Chepauk.”
On Sunday, April 16, Rajasthan Royals (RR) will play against the Gujarat Titans (GT), the defending champions.
