Dinesh Karthik, playing the recently exhausted RCB, was all over the place in the death overs to help RCB get a high total of 196/8 versus MI. The two teams confronted each other at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai in the 25th match of ongoing 2024 IPL event on April 11.

Dinesh Karthik was outstanding during his stint in the middle, scoring 53 runs in just 23 deliveries while remaining undefeated. His innings comprised five fours and four sixes, and he delivered a finisher’s knock to assist his team score huge runs in the final four overs.

After Faf du Plessis and Rajat Patidar’s successful third-wicket partnership came to an end, Dinesh Karthik teamed up with the RCB captain. They put up a 45-run partnership for the fifth wicket.

RCB came to be losing some wickets as the first innings was reaching its end. Yet, Dinesh Karthik seemed to accept his role as an integral part of the team and provided some crucial runs for their scoreboard.

The master bowler of Mumbai Indians, Jasprit Bumrah, showed he had no match as he set the bar very high in the clash against RCB at the Wankhede in the league. The bowler began the match by being a record 16th time in the history of IPL, the player Virat Kohli was thrown out. He went on to add Du Plessis, Mahipal Lomror, Saurav Chauhan, and Vijaykumar Vyshak’s wickets to his kitty to complete a magnificent five-wicket haul.

The spearhead finished his four-over spell with a figure of 5/21 [batting economy being 5.25 both]. No doubt, his footsteps through the Wicket-takers leaderboard and getting the Purple Cap was a sign of his authority as he reached 10 wickets at the end of the 5 matches so far.

With his performance today, Bumrah became the IPL bowler with the most wickets against RCB, bringing his total to 29. He surpassed Ravindra Jadeja and Sandeep Sharma, who are tied for second-most wickets against RCB with 26.
