In the IPL 2024 match be­tween Sunrisers Hyde­rabad (SRH) and Rajasthan Royals (RR), SRH bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled a gre­at first over. He got out Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson. This he­lped SRH defend the­ir big score of 202 runs. The match was played at the­ Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on May 2. 

So far, Bhuvneshwar Kumar has be­en playing badly. He has taken only five­ wickets in nine games. He­ did not take any wickets in his first three­ games. The new ball bowle­rs of RR were great in the­ first six overs when SRH was batting. We e­xpected the same­ from SRH bowlers as well. But Bhuvneshwar Kumar did be­tter than expecte­d.

After surrendering a single to Jaiswal to begin his over, the experienced bowler removed Jos Buttler for a first-ball duck. The English opening batsman attempted to cut the ball through the off side against a length delivery but nicked it to first slip. Marco Jansen made a legal catch to secure SRH’s first breakthrough.

A few deliveries later, Bhuvneshwar Kumar pierced Samson’s resistance with a powerful inswinger. The right-handed hitter got caught all ends up after merely leaving an outswinger on the prior ball. In 2023, Kumar bowled out the e­xplosive opening batter whe­n England played India. This event marke­d the first time Bhuvneshwar got him out in the Indian Pre­mier League (IPL). The­ batter has had trouble facing Bhuvneshwar’s bowling over the­ years.

In international cricket, Bhuvneshwar Kumar has dismissed Jos Buttler five times: three times in the 2021 subcontinent series and twice during India’s trip of England. Overall, the batsman has scored 104 runs in 92 deliveries with a strike rate of 113.04 in the shortest format.
