Rohit Sharma is among one of the most successful batsmen in the world. Being nicknamed ‘The Hitman’, the Indian skipper has played several memorable knocks to help India register many wins against various oppositions. He has scored 43 hundreds and 91 half-centuries for India till now. However, he has also fallen numerous times in the nervous nineties as well. #3 90* vs West Indies in the 2nd ODI at Visakhapatnam (2011)
After failing to make it into the squad for the 2011 World Cup squad, Rohit made a strong comeback. He was the top scorer for India in a five-match ODI series against West Indies later that year. In the second ODI, Rohit joined Virat after India found themselves in trouble in a hunt for 270 and were 84/3. The duo shared a match-defining partnership of 163 runs. Rohit remained unbeaten on 90 off 98 balls.
#2 91 vs Pakistan at the ICC Champions Trophy in Birmingham (2017)
Rohit Sharma had a bittersweet start to his 2017 Champions Trophy campaign when he played a marvelous inning of 91 runs to help India defeat Pakistan. However, he fell short of scoring a well-deserved century.
He overcame the early threat posed by Mohammed Amir and Hasan Ali and set the stage for India to post a massive total in the first innings. Despite playing an excellent inning, Rohit was run out in the 36th over of India’s innings, just shy of his century.
#1 99 vs Australia in the 5th ODI at Sydney (2016)
Rohit had a fantastic run in the 2016 white-ball tour of Australia, scoring 441 runs at an average of 110 across five ODIs. Despite scoring two centuries in the first four ODIs, Rohit missed out on a third in the final ODI, falling just one run short with 99. However, his efforts helped India win the series, with Rohit and Shikhar putting up a 123-run opening partnership in the chase for a daunting 330. Rohit continued to build on this, adding 97 runs with Manish Pandey, but was dismissed for 99 after being dropped earlier.
