Rohit Sharma, Team India’s captain, is praised for his quick humor and excellent batting. He’s always spreading joy and humor, both when playing and during his off-field press meetings and fan chats.

During 2020’s global Coronavirus struggle, Rohit Sharma was very present on social media. He chatted with other cricketers and hosted fan Q & A sessions. Cricket was on hold back then.

During one such Q&A session, the Indian opener had a humorous reaction to a question concerning long-time colleague Virat Kohli. Amid allegations of a breach between the two Indian cricket superstars, a fan requested the Hitman to characterize Kohli in a single word. However, he misspelled the previous Indian captain’s name, Kholi. This offered Rohit Sharma the opportunity to demonstrate his distinctive wit as he responded:

“Check the spelling.”

As always, the Indian captain’s amusing remark wowed admirers, who applauded his sense of humor. Meanwhile, during the same Q&A session, Rohit Sharma spoke on MS Dhoni, describing him as a sporting great.

Despite speculations that everything is not well between Rohit and Kohli throughout the years, the two have always complimented and supported each other at every chance. In February 2022, when Kohli was struggling for runs, Rohit Sharma threw his support behind the star cricketer and commented:

“If you guys (media) can keep quiet, everything will fall in place.”

“Do you think he needs confidence? What are you saying?… I don’t think there is anything wrong. The team management is not at all worried about that.”

Right now, Kohli isn’t playing in the current home series against England. Personal matters are why he’s absent. Even though he’s 35, he was first chosen for the Indian team for the initial two Tests. But later, he backed out.

There was concern about his availability for the last three Tests. The BCCI, when selecting the team for the remaining three matches against England, announced Kohli’s absence in a press release:

“Virat Kohli will remain unavailable for selection for the remainder of the series due to personal reasons. The Board fully respects and supports Mr. Kohli’s decision.”

Recent news says KL Rahul won’t play in the third Test. It begins on February 15 in Rajkot. He’s still injured and not completely healed.
