For those unfamiliar, the Men in Blue have played nine T20I matches at the site, winning three and drawing one. They recently defeated Australia by six runs in Bengaluru on December 3, last year.
All eyes on India captain Rohit Sharma in dead rubbers vs Afghanistan
India’s team captain, Rohit Sharma, will be the center of attention during the final T20I match against Afghanistan this Wednesday. Sadly, our star opener hasn’t scored in the past two games, a shocking turn after a year off from the format.
On another note, Virat Kohli, a star of Royal Challengers Bangalore, is excited to bring the crowd a stand-out performance. The strong, right-handed hitter managed 29 runs from 16 balls in the last T20I. An impressive return since the 2022 T20 World Cup where he was at the top of the scoring chart.
India is up 2-0 in the three-game T20I series against Afghanistan. Thanks to Shivam Dube’s excellent show in the first game, India came out on top. He reeled in 1/9 during his two overs and scored a crucial 60 runs without getting out in 40 balls.
The Indian team sealed the second match as well with a six-wicket win. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shivam Dube were the stars, taking on the 173-run target effortlessly. Jaiswal racked up 68 runs in just 34 balls, with six stunning maximums and five boundaries. Dube scored 63 runs without losing a wicket from 32 balls, hitting four spectacular sixes and five boundaries.
Rohit Sharma’s team is setting their sights on a clean sweep against their guests, aiming for a 3-0 triumph. This will be their final T20I before the eagerly anticipated T20 World Cup of 2024 in the USA and West Indies. The tournament kicks off this June.
