Harleen Deol, an all-rounder on the India women’s team, had a thrilling encounter with MS Dhoni, the famed ex-skipper of India. This meeting occurred at Ranchi’s JSCA Stadium on Monday, January 15. The joy of meeting the cricket star in his own city wasn’t lost on the 25-year-old.
Deol posted photos with Dhoni on Instagram with the caption:
“The moment which felt surreal. Cherishing every minute spend with my idol. It’s already cold in India But this my #captaincool moment …”

She added:
“Have idolised you as a player but after meeting you I am gonna idolise you as a person as well …Still Can’t believe, I really met you.”

In 2020, Deol described Dhoni as her favorite cricketer and influence.
Her latest game saw her facing Australia at Wankhede Stadium. Deol, unfortunately, didn’t perform well, making just one run. This right-handed player is set for her next game with Gujarat Giants in the upcoming 2024 women’s Premier League. She clocked in 202 runs across eight games with a 125.46 strike rate in the previous season.
CSK captain MS Dhoni kickstarts his training for IPL 2024
MS Dhoni, captain of Chennai Super Kings, is back in training for the 2024 IPL season, healed from his knee issue. The revered catcher and hitter who retired from international cricket in 2020, had promised his followers he’d be back for one more year after winning the prior season’s cup. This is what he said to Jio Cinema last year:
“Circumstantially if you see this is the best time for me to announce retirement. But the amount of love and affection that I have been shown, wherever I have been this year…I think the easy thing for me to say would be to say ‘Thank you very much’, but the tough thing for me would to work hard for nine months and come back and play at least one more season of IPL. But a lot depends on the body.”

He added:
“It would take 6-7 months to decide. It will be more like a gift from my side. It’s not easy for me, but the way they have shown their love and affection, that’s something that I need to do.”

There’s a high chance IPL 2024 initiation will be on the tail end of March.
