Rishabh Pant, the captain of the Delhi Capitals (DC), shattered a curtain in rage in the pavilion after being dismissed in the IPL 2024 match against the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Jaipur on Thursday.

RR batted first in the encounter, scoring 185/5 because to Riyan Parag’s excellent hit of 84* (45). During the chase, DC reached 30/2 in 3.4 overs, at which point Rishabh Pant took the crease. Pant hit a solid 28 (26) before retiring in the 14th over, when his side was under strain and the needed run rate was increasing.

Rishabh stormed out of the park after edging Yuzvendra Chahal’s ball to Sanju Samson. He was then seen violently striking a curtain in the pavilion with his bat while walking to the dressing room. A fan published a video on X to offer everyone a sneak peek.

Following Pant’s departure, Tristan Stubbs attempted to lead the Delhi Capitals home with 44 (23), but was unable to do so due to a lack of assistance from the other batsmen. DC finally reached 173/5 in 20 overs, but lost the match by 12 runs.

Rishabh Pant expressed dissatisfaction during the post-match presentation after the Delhi Capitals lost for the second time in IPL 2024 on Thursday. Reflecting on the setback versus RR, Pant stated:

“I think definitely disappointed but the best thing we can do is to learn from this. I think the bowlers did very well for 15-16 overs. It will happen sometimes that batters will go berserk. Hopefully we learn from this and come back better.”

He continued:

“The platform which was set by Marsh and Warner, we couldn’t quite consolidate on that but I feel we had too many runs to cover up in the end. There is always one option or the other. We wanted Nortje to bowl in the death. Sometimes he will go for runs, that’s part and parcel of the game. Hopefully we come back stronger.”
