Travis Head, the SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) opener, missed out on scoring another IPL century. He was dismissed by Kuldeep Yadav, the left-arm wrist-spinner from Delhi Capitals (DC). This happened during their IPL 2024 match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. It took place on Saturday.
Head and Abhishek Sharma got SRH off to another flying start, this time with the best score in IPL powerplay history (125/0). Kuldeep Yadav halted the Australian in his tracks as he appeared to be on his way to his second IPL hundred of the season.
Travis Head went on the back foot for Kuldeep Yadav’s flatter ball and attempted to dump it over long-on. However, he was unable to obtain the height as Tristan Stubbs made an outstanding low catch.
Here’s the video of the dismissal:
Kuldeep Yadav has previously taken the wickets of Abhishek Sharma and Aiden Markram. Head’s scalp provided some solace for the Delhi Capitals following a disastrous power play.
Travis Head once again sets SRH up for a massive score
SunRisers Hyderabad’s devastation against the Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s start to their innings against DC threatened to eclipse their respective performances. Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head pulled the bones out of Delhi’s assault immediately away, taking advantage of the short boundaries.
Kuldeep Yadav took the top-order wickets, while Axar Patel sent Heinrich Klaasen back, leaving SRH 154/4. Nitish Kumar Reddy and Shahbaz Ahmed then steadied SRH’s innings with a vital partnership before returning to the visitors’ trademark style of cricket.
Shahbaz remained undefeated on 59* as the SunRisers posted a remarkable 266/7 in 20 overs. DC lost both of its openers early, but Jake Fraser-McGurk and Abhishek Porel are going all out at the moment.
Delhi are 88/2 after the powerplay, and they need the two young players to keep playing and pave the way for Rishabh Pant and Tristan Stubbs to explode.
