Varun Aaron highlighted how Virat Kohli consistently proves his critics wrong by delivering outstanding performances especially during IPL 2024 with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Kohlis exceptional strike rate has unquestionably silenced any doubts about his abilities.

Virat Kohli strode confidently into the 2024 T20 World Cup riding a wave of success from securing the Orange Cap in this seasons IPL. Regrettably his bat failed to sparkle managing just five runs across three innings during Indias groupstage encounters in New York.

Aaron was asked about Kohli’s expectations in the West Indies following an unimpressive performance in New York during a Star Sports interview.

“Virat gives answers whenever questions are raised about his performance. If you see in the IPL, there were a lot of questions raised on his strike rate, and after that, Virat made such a comeback that he silenced everyone. I feel no one will ever talk about his strike rate.”

The former India speedster believes the current batting great will reclaim his run-scoring form in the West Indies.

“Similarly, if you see now, he remained cold in the first two or three matches. It can happen with any batter on such wickets. However, people need to understand that Virat just needs to put a switch on and he starts scoring runs. Virat will definitely be disappointed with his last three matches but come the West Indies, Virat will look a different batter when he plays on such wickets.”

Varun Aaron was also asked about Virat Kohli’s impressive record in the West Indies across formats.

“Tell me one thing, on which surface and in which country does Virat have a bad average? It’s a fact that Virat Kohli scores runs wherever he goes, and he scores runs with a certain aggression and adapts according to the conditions.”

According to the cricketer-turned-commentator, Kohli’s biggest strength is his versatility.

“Virat Kohli’s biggest plus point is that he doesn’t play a similar kind of game everywhere. He adapts to the conditions and that is the biggest hallmark of a great batter.”
