The Australian men’s cricket team is already feeling the heat with just two games completed in the series. With India going 2-0 in the ongoing BGT 2022-23, Australia received another blow when opener David Warner and pacer Josh Hazlewood were ruled out of the Test series.

Australia is reportedly looking to send more players home to cut down the strength of their squad before the remaining Tests in India. To sum things up, not everything is under control in the Australian camp as Matt Renshaw and Ashton Agar are expected to leave the Australian squad currently amid the ongoing BGT 2022-23. Pat Cummins has already left for Sydney due to family health concerns and is expected to return before the third Test match.

As per West Australian, Andrew McDonald stated, “We’re working through that, so it won’t form as such but there’s cricket going on back home.” He further said, “With a few players now becoming fit and available, are we carrying too many? We’ve got to be clear on what we want to achieve in the next two Test matches in terms of the structure of the team.” He further said, “It won’t be form related; it’d be more we want our players playing where they can be and not just being carried around in kit bags, in particular when there’s cricket going on back home.”

The Australian team’s struggles in the Indian subcontinent continue, with the hosts retaining the BGT for the fourth straight time. They lost the first Test in Nagpur by an inning and 132 runs while in the second Test, they were beaten by 6 wickets.
