On Monday, December 11, Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav published on social media the images of his metamorphosis. With the Indian squad for the three-match T20I series, he is currently in Gqeberha, South Africa.

The man of thirty-thre­e stood in to lead the short form side­ as the usual captain took a break and another playe­r missed out with an injury to his foot. The very first short game­ in Durban last Sunday got rained out and called off due to lots of rainfall. Now the­ two teams will play again in the second match coming up on Tue­sday at the park in Gqeberha.

On Monday, Suryakumar Yadav posted a composite of two of his own photos on his official Instagram account. Additionally, he stated the dates of their capture: August 15 for one, and December 9 for the other. In comparison to the one taken four months ago, he appears noticeably thinner in the most recent one.

Surya indicated this in his post, writing in the caption:

“Work. 15.08.23 to 9.12.23”

Chris Gayle, the legendary T20 hitter, recently praised Suryakumar Yadav for his outstanding accomplishments in the shortest format over the last several years. Surya’s ability to hit all over the field while maintaining a solid strike rate throughout the innings pleased the 44-year-old.

Gayle remarked on Star Sports, effusively praising Suryakumar Yadav:

“I don’t know how to describe that, he’s just phenomenal. [He hits] pretty much all around the ground, fantastic. Good strike rate, good player. Like I said, he has a bright future as well. I know he pretty much just started but down the road, consistency is going to be even more key for a player like SKY. He’s got phenomenal talent, you know, unbelievable talent.”

Gayle added:

“You just don’t know how to describe it. I am sure bowlers also try to pinpoint how to bowl to him because he’s so, you know, like a 360 [degree] player as well. It is going to be difficult for bowlers to work him, to decide which areas to [bowl to] try and cramp him out. Like I said, he’s just phenomenal.”

Suryakumar Yadav has had in spectacular form in T20Is since his debut in 2021, despite his mediocre career in other forms. He has scored 1985 runs at an average of 44.11 while maintaining an excellent strike rate of 171.71 in 58 games.
