Indian cricketer Suryakumar Yadav couldnt convert his impressive beginning falling cheaply during a crucial Super 8 showdown in the T20 World Cup against Bangladesh on Saturday (June 22). The thrilling match unfolds at the iconic Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua.
‘SKY’ appeared at the crease at 71/2 in the ninth over, when Tanzim Hasan Sakib pierced Virat Kohli’s defense. He hammered a six to the fine leg boundary off a superbly executed bouncer by the paceman. Certainly, the belter of a surface aided the right-handed batter in getting the ball to the bat nicely.
However, Suryakumar Yadav was unable to judge the bounce of Sakib’s excellent length delivery in the following ball, which he unintentionally gloved and was caught by Litton Das. Despite the bowler’s lack of confidence in the dismissal, Suryakumar Yadav walked away immediately after hitting six off two balls.

Rishabh Pant Guides India’s Comeback Against Bangladesh in T20 World Cup 2024
After Suryakumar Yadav left with a poor score, the Indian team required a push from the other batters to regain momentum. Pant obviously had a positive intent to help the squad score.
In particular, Pant annihilated Mustafizur Rahman in the eleventh over. He used fuller balls to hit two fours and a six. In the next over against Rishad Hossain, the southpaw came down the track to hit a maximum and swept one for four.
However, the spinner had the last laugh as Pant’s reverse sweep resulted in a hole to Tanzim Hasan Sakib at short third-man. He blasted 36 off 24 balls to provide the team the required push for a massive score.
At the time of writing, Shivam Dube (28) and Hardik Pandya (20) had clearly stated their intentions and helped India reach 155/4 in the 17th over. It will be interesting to see if they can reach the lofty total of 200 and build a strong claim to a semi-final position in the T20 World Cup.
