Tanzim Hasan Sakib, a young Bangladeshi bowler, delivered a significant blow to Team India in the T20 World Cup 2024 Super 8 match by removing Virat Kohli. It occurred during the clash in Antigua on Saturday, June 22. The right-arm speedster successfully clattered the stumps as the right-handed hitter stepped out to knock the ball over the top.

The dismissal came in the ninth over of the innings, when Tanzim came on for his second after conceding only six in his first. The former Indian captain appeared confident, having hit a maximum in the previous over bowled by Rishad Hossain. The 21-year-old’s ball was most likely a slower off-cutter, and Kohli got through the stroke a little early, so he heard the death rattle behind him.

However, the 35-year-old right-hander’s 37 proved to be his highest score in this year’s T20 World Cup after starting the tournament on a scratchy note. Virat Kohli, who has been prolific in T20 World Cup history, registered single-figure scores in the first three matches against Ireland, Pakistan, and USA. Virat Kohli scored a run-a-ball 24 against Afghanistan before Rashid Khan got the better of him.

Suryakumar Yadav, who was in good form, followed the experienced hitter to the pavilion after Tanzim took two mammoth wickets in his second over. The fast dismissals caused problems for the Men in Blue. Suryakumar began his batting with a magnificent six over short fine leg. However, the right-arm pacer’s rising delivery outside off-stump forced a nick from the 33-year-old towards the wicketkeeper.
