Which team holds the record for the fastest run chase in terms of no of balls left unused? Who would have thought it would be Spain? But they made history on Sunday, February 26, by chasing down a target of 11 runs set by the Isle of Man in just two legal deliveries.

The match was played at La Manga Club Bottom Ground in Cartagena where Spain elected to field first after winning the toss. In just 8.4 overs, they managed to clean up the Isle of Man for a total of 10 runs, setting a new record for the lowest score in a men’s T20 international match. The previous record was held by Turkey with a score of 21 against the Czech Republic in 2019.

In a target of 11 runs, Awais Ahmed (12*) was confronted with a no-ball by Joseph Burrows. With an impeccable stroke, he slammed the next two deliveries for sixes, bringing the match to a swift end. As a result, they accomplished a new global milestone for the quickest run chase in T20Is, with a remarkable 118 balls to spare.
