Shreyas Iyer made an unexpected appearance in a group photograph shared as an Instagram story by Yuzvendra Chahal’s wife, Dhanashree Verma. As seen in the original Instagram post, the trio of Shreyas Iyer, Srestha and Dhanashree was seen attending an Iftaar event during the Ramadan period. Also joining them in the picture was Srestha Iyer, sister of Shreyas Iyer, who, like Dhanashree, is a dancer and choreographer. Dhanashree captioned the post:
“My cuties,” with heart and face-blowing kiss emojis.
Iyer and Dhanshree Verma have previously been seen in public together, most recently attending Shardul Thakur’s wedding with India’s cricket captain Rohit Sharma and his wife, Ritika Sajdeh. They had also joined Suryakumar Yadav and Devisha Shetty for dinner in August last year.

Shreyas Iyer has been ruled out of the 2023 Indian Premier League due to a persistent back injury he has struggled with since December. This means the right-handed batter will likely miss the ICC World Test Championship final against Australia at the Oval in London, starting on June 7. The discomfort started for him after India toured Bangladesh in December, leading to him missing the home series against New Zealand and the first Test in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. He was able to return for the second and third Tests but could not bat in the fourth Test despite fielding for two days.
