The SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) had another moment of brilliance on the field against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), this time returning the dangerous Marcus Stoinis during their IPL 2024 match at the Uppal Stadium in Hyderabad on Wednesday, May 8.

Stoinis attempted to push a ball from Bhuvneshwar Kumar over midwicket, taking advantage of the fielding constraints. However, he hit it high with his bat and lobbed the ball towards midfield.

For the majority of the ball’s flight, it appeared like it would fall just short of Sanvir Singh. However, the kid ran in and performed a spectacular dive to catch the ball inches from the ground. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, along with the other SRH fielders, sprinted towards Singh, pleasantly delighted.

Here’s a video of the incredible catch:

Marcus Stoinis limped off the field, puzzled why the third umpire did not verify the catch from different angles. He was observed arguing with the on-field umpires before exiting the field.

It hasn’t been the traditional Hyderabad pitch from earlier this season, as there has been some grip available for the bowlers. The SunRisers have also been exceptional on the field, with wonderful catches from Nitish Kumar Reddy and Sanvir Singh, who returned Quinton de Kock and Marcus Stoinis, respectively.

KL Rahul and Krunal Pandya appeared to calm the LSG ship, but just when it appeared like they were about to shift gears, the visitors lost both set batsmen because to the SunRisers’ excellent fielding.

Lucknow will be hoping that Ayush Badoni and Nicholas Pooran can create a partnership and help their team reach 150 runs. On a tough field, it may be a score that keeps the game exciting.
