Sanju Samson leads the Rajasthan Royals team. He normally stays calm on the field. But after hitting the winning runs against Lucknow Super Giants, Samson showed emotion. This happened in their IPL 2024 match on April 27th, Saturday.
Sanju Samson slipped inside the ball’s line and flicked it over fine leg for a six, which won the game for RR. The Rajasthan skipper was determined to stay unblemished and lead his side to victory. When he finished, he yelled with excitement and received a hearty hug from Dhruv Jurel.

While Samson’s reaction was joyful, KL Rahul seemed dissatisfied, which was understandable given LSG’s moments in the game. The video also showed Yashasvi Jaiswal and other players getting hyped up in the RR dugout.

Sanju Samson’s blistering hit of 71* off 33 had some early times when he had to form a combination with Riyan Parag and subsequently with Dhruv Jurel.
The RR skipper adjusted well to the circumstances, and he feels that one of the primary reasons for this was his wicket-keeping. Samson mentioned it in the post-match presentation:
“To be honest I am very lucky to be behind the wickets throughout the game. When we were bowling with the new ball, I knew there was some purchase in the wicket when they bowled Test-match lengths and once the ball got old it was a very good wicket to bat on.”

Samson recorded his fourth half-century in IPL 2024. This consistency may have secured his position as a wicketkeeper in India’s T20 World Cup 2024 roster, which is expected to be named in the coming days.
