Ruturaj Gaikwad the skipper of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) unfortunately departed for a duck in just three balls as he was superbly caught by Rashid Khan playing for Gujarat Titans (GT) in the IPL 2024 match held in Ahmedabad on Friday (May 10). This exceptional catch placed the defending champions Super Kings in a challenging position with a score of 10/3.
The dismissal occurred in the third over of CSK’s run chase. Umesh Yadav delivered a short-length ball, and Ruturaj Gaikwad attempted a pull shot. Rashid executed a well-timed grab at deep square leg inside the ropes. During the second try, the famous all-rounder made sure his right leg did not touch the rope while catching. The television umpire took his time before calling it out.

Despite going off early, Ruturaj Gaikwad is still the second-highest run-scorer in IPL 2024, with 541 runs in 12 matches, including one century and four boundaries. In terms of Orange Caps, he trails only Virat Kohli.

The Super Kings were 43/3 after six overs, with Moeen Ali and Daryl Mitchell at the crease.
GT batted first and achieved a score of 231/3. Captain Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan both struck century as they formed a 210-run first wicket combination.
