The Men in Blue had a difficult start, losing their first three wickets in rapid succession. On the other hand, Rohit seemed to be on track to get his hundred after adjusting to the circumstances rather effectively. He misplayed a slog, though, and it ended up in the clutches of the deep mid-wicket.
Fans on X were sad that Rohit Sharma could not reach his century. They did, however, compliment the Indian skipper for his knock, particularly given the pitch and the match scenario.

Suryakumar Yadav, however, produced a critical 49 down the order, and India’s tail wagged to lead them to 229/9 in 50 overs. The hosts will need early wickets to make a contest of it, since the pitch may improve for batting under lights.
