Rohit Sharma has joined the Mumbai Indians’ (MI) team for the IPL 2024 competition. He is no longer the team’s captain, but the star Indian hitter remains a valuable member of the club. During a brief break from the pre-season practice session, Sharma attended a promotional event for a brand he supports.

Rohit Sharma hasn’t played under someone else’s captaincy for Mumbai Indians since 2013. That was when Ricky Ponting led MI in matches with Rohit in the playing eleven. However, this year will be different. Hardik Pandya takes over as the Mumbai Indians’ captain.
Can Rohit Sharma Maintain His Stellar Batting Performance in IPL 2024?
The Mumbai Indians sacked Sharma as captain, although he will most likely start the batting for them in the IPL 2024. The Hitman was in excellent form during the ICC ODI World Cup at home last year. He also had some outstanding performances in the just ended ICC World Test Championship series against England.
Sharma also hit a century in his most recent T20I encounter, against Afghanistan in January of this year. MI will face former champions Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday evening.
It would be intriguing to observe how Rohit Sharma fares in his maiden game for the Mumbai Indians, skipper by Hardik Pandya.
